1505063 Continuous casting UKRAIN N I INST METALL and NAUCH - PROIZVODST OBIEDINE TULACHERMET 24 Jan 1977 02701/77 Heading B3F To allow gases to escape from a mould 1 as it is filled with metal through a refractory conduit 2 from a tundish 3, a dummy bar head 5 has a duct 6 through it and a tube 7 extending from the duct to where its open end is separated from the mould wall by a gap 8 for allowing gases to be vented. The duct may be horizontal and the tube curved through 90 degrees so that it turns up towards its open end adjacent the mould wall. The mould may be inclined.
