Abstract
159,163. Velten, H. Feb. 18, 1920, [Convention date]. Addition to 155,570. Upward-current classifiers.-In the apparatus described in the parent Specification, the slide b, Fig. 1, is arranged with a curvature o, on its underside, so as to more effectively direct the stream of separating fluid; similarly the upper edge of the run-off c is curved laterally at l, and has a dome-shaped member m, fitted approximately concentric and preferably rigid with it, thus forming an orifice which is adjustable vertically. Fig. 2 represents a modification with admission of the material through the shaft p and removal of the light material through a central passage n, water being admitted from the outside of the passage. The dome m is here combined with a centrifugal distributor i and is adjustable as to height therewith.
