Abstract
1438524 Cathode constructions PATENTTREUHAND - GES FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN mbH 20 Aug 1973 [18 Sept 1972] 39318/73 Heading H1D A h.p. discharge lamp electrode comprises a rod 1 partly enclosed by 2 contiguous porous sintered zones 7, 5; the zone 7 partially enveloping the other zone 5 which contains emissive material. Zone 4 is formed from compressed powdered W, ZrC or LaB 4 mixed with Zn, Cu or Au and sintered up to 2600 C., thereby removing the Zn, Cu or Au. A mixture of 50% W, ZrC or LaB 4 and 50% of the oxides of Ba, Ca and Th or Ba cirate is added and the assembly sintered up to 2000 C.
