Abstract

1438369 Metering powders AUTOMATISME ET TECHNIQUE 18 Sept 1973 [22 Sept 1972] 43745/73 Heading B8N [Also in Divisions B3 B5 and C1] A device for supplying a measured quantity of powder from a hopper 11.11 to a mould 11.104 supported on a rotatable drum comprises a fixed tray 11.101 having an aperture 11.102 and trays 11.16 and 11.17 which rotate with the drum. In use, powder from the hopper 11.11 falls into a metering chamber formed by rings 11.18, 11.19 in the trays 11.16, 11.17 when the rings are located beneath the hopper outlet, and as the trays are rotated by the drum the bottom edge of the hopper wipes across the top of the ring 11.18 before the rings come above the aperture 11.102 in the tray 11.101 to allow the measured quantity to fall into a tube 11.103 and thence to the mould 11.104. The hopper 11.11, tray 11, 16 and ring 11.18 are vertically adjustable to vary the quantity measured.
