1431618 Tube mill linings WAAGNER-BIRO AG 17 July 1974 [19 July 1973 14 Sept 1973 (2) 11 Oct 1973 20 Dec 1973] 31775/74 Heading B2A A tube mill comprises a lining of grinding plates arranged to have a polygonal internal cross section (including square) in which supports 1 Fig. 1, are mounted in the inside of the casing. Some of the plates are directly or indirectly attached to the supports which are arranged in consecutive rings 3....6 and angularly relatively staggered. The supports comprise a pair of angle members 9, 10 disposed across the shell 2 of the mill and internal stiffening struts 7 and stiffening members 11. The angle members 9, 10 may engage a groove in the undersurface of a plate 13 Fig. 3, or be bolted as at 14, Fig. 4, include resilient inserts 32. Different profiles of bolts and bolt heads Figs. 5....8 not shown are described. However, bolts may be eliminated the plates pressstud fitting into resilient bands 32, Fig. 11. Various profiles, e.g. dovetail may be used. The dovetails may be locked by pins 36, Fig. 12 or rings (18) Fig. 14, not shown. The lining may also be secured by keys Figs. 16....18 (not shown) or by a key-and-wedge arrangement 47, 40 as in Fig. 19.
