Abstract

1431290 Suction covers for web collecting zone of a card MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 13 Sept 1973 [15 Sept 1972] 43036/ 73 Headings D1F and D1N A suction air stream is generated in the web collecting zone of a card by means of a hood 10 which is connected to a suction source, means being provided within the hood to influence the air stream, these means including a horizontal baffle plate 12. An air entry opening is provided in the hood and may be a grill with a baffle cover 21, Fig. 2, the cover being interconnected with a hood catch 28 which prevents the hood being opened while the grill is closed. An alternative opening, Fig. 4, comprises a hinged flap. The influencing of the air flow is said to prevent the web being damaged by an air surge when the hood is opened.
