Abstract

143,109. Meyer, E. Aug. 19, 1919. Floors, cleaning.-Floors are polished &c. by tools 18 which are reciprocated in parallel planes and on opposite sides of the central plane of motion AB of the wheeled frame 1 carrying a motor and operating gear. In the form shown, the tools are connected by stirrups 17 to levers 11 pivoted at 16 and oscillated by rods 10 and a double-crank shaft 8 rotated from the motor by sprocket gearing. The paths of the tools overlap slightly at their inner ends to ensure complete treatment of the floor. In a modification, the tools are mounted on screwed spindles driven by the motor through friction gearing, the direction of drive being intermittingly reversed to cause the tools to reciprocate along their spindles.
