Abstract
143,057. Forster, J. W. June 2, 1919. Lawns and the like, removing leaves and the like from.-An implement for collecting and removing weeds, stubble, &c. from arable land comprises a rotary shaft a carrying rows of flexible tines b, a guard c, a pivoted receptacle d, and a roller i, mounted on a frame provided with two travelling wheels f<1>. The guard is adjustable by means of slots and bolts n and perforated links q. The receptacle d is tipped by means of a lever l mounted on a shaft l<1> provided with arms y<1> connected to the receptacle by links l<11>. The shaft a is driven rapidly in the opposite direction to that of the wheels f<1> by spur-wheels g<1> and ratchet pinions h<1>. The tines b are bent at the ends to fit into holes in the tubular shaft a and are secured by bolts or screws. Traction is applied through a triangular frame m<1> pivoted on the axle. According to the Provisional Specification, a rigid shield may be fixed to the frame in front of the guard.
