Abstract

1429495 Operating tables SIEMENS AG 18 April 1973 [18 April 1972] 18861/73 Headings A4J and A4U [ Also in Division F2] A surgical operating table comprises a vertically adjustable support column 6 on which three pivotally inter-connected sections 20, 21, 22 are mounted for tilting about transverse and longitudinal axes 15, 45 respectively, vertical adjustment of column 6, tilting about transverse and longitudinal axes and pivoting of the sections relative to each other being effected by hydraulic piston and cylinder units 9, 16, 42, 28 and 46 respectively, selectively operated by a central valve control unit 40 having a plurality of valves each associated with one of the hydraulic units and being selectively actuated by a single control lever whereby operation of the control lever opens the selected valve and places its respective hydraulic cylinder in communication with an air reservoir from which oil is pumped mechanically e.g. by a foot pump 5. The central section 21 may be mounted on rails 23, 24 slidable relative to a frame 13. The base frame 1 may be provided with castors 2 and legs 3 which may be pushed down by a foot pedal 4 to hold the table against movement.
