Abstract

1427375 Coffee filter and package MIKO NV 26 Oct 1973 [30 Oct 1972] 50081/73 Heading A4E [Also in Division B8C] A filter package for the preparation of a coffee infusion comprises at least two chambers 8, 9 one above the other, each chamber containing a measure of coffee 10, 11, the chambers being defined by water-permeable walls 5, 6, 7. As shown, the filter package has walls 1 of a synthetic material, the walls having shoulders 2, 3, 4 to which are welded the filtering walls 5, 6, 7. The coffee in one chamber may differ from that in the other, e.g. in the manner in which it has been roasted or ground, and the amount of coffee in each chamber relative to chamber size is specified. The package may be a disposable cartridge for insertion in a brewing apparatus or, as indicated by the dotted lines in the drawing, the package may be formed as a complete filter and water container.
