Abstract
1421053 Swash plate mechanism CREUSOTLOIRE 8 Nov 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 51952/73 Heading F2K A swash-plate drive mechanism for an axialpiston pump or motor is arranged within a stationary casing 1 on a pre-stressed tie-rod 4 whereby generated end thrust of a wobble plate 7 is completely absorbed by the tie-rod 4, the self-contained end thrust tie-rod arrangement enabling a light sheet metal surrounding shell 13, 14 for the casing 1 to be utilized to reduce the overall weight and bulk of the drive unit. As shown, the wobble plate mechanism comprises the wobble plate 7 journalled on an internal Z- crank 27 and prevented from rotation by a link 73 connected to the stationary casing 1. The Z- crank is formed on a hollow shaft 2 journalled at 21, 25 on a spacer sleeve 3 and casing end flange 110 respectively, the tie-rod 4 passing through and clamping the spacer sleeve 3 between the ends of the casing 1. Drive to the wobble plate 7 is effected through a reduction gear comprising an input pinion 6 meshing a gear wheel 24 which is formed at the end of the hollow shaft 2 and by which the journal bearing 25 is effected on the casing flange 110. The wobble plate 7 drives the pump or motor axially movable pistons via ballended connecting rods 8. Plain bearings 8, 23, 25, 71 and 72 which are used throughout in the Fig. 1 arrangement may be replaced by ball and/or roller bearings as illustrated in Fig. 2 (not shown).
