Abstract

1420370 Electromagnetic contactors SPRECHER SCHUH AG 2 Aug 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 36768/73 Heading H1N An electromagnetic contactor has a series of fixed contact sets 38 and one or more removable contact sets 43a, 43b all operable by a transverse member 18 effective to cause movement of contact bridges 20, 50 and the removable contact sets are formed as assemblies with housings 44 which may be mounted in the contactor body 1 in two different positions by turning through 180 degrees; the positions being such that the member 18 engages either surface 47 or surface 48 of the contact carrying plunger 46 of the contact assemblies. This allows for selection of the relative timing of contact operation of contact units 43a, 43b. The member 18 is coupled to the armature 9 by short-circuiting rings 10 and the yoke and core assembly 2 engages X-section plastics rods 56 which act as shock absorbing members. Ends 45a, 39a, 27a of the fixed contacts form plugs for co-operation with terminals on a connection block 53. Markings on the housings of contact sets 43a, 43b indicate the form of contact operation and its sequence.
