Abstract
1419351 Detergent compositions KAO SOAP CO Ltd 8 Jan 1974 [19 Jan 1973] 00788/74 Heading C5D Compositions having controlled foaming properties comprise at least one anionic synthetic surfactant-and at least 3% by weight of that surfactant of at. least one foam-controlling agent of Formulµ I, II or III wherein R 1 is a C 10 to C 22 alkyl group, a C 10 - C 22 alkenyl group, an alkylphenyl or an alkenylphenyl group in which the alkyl or alkenyl group has 8 to 14 carbon atoms, R 2 is H or CH 3 ; R 3 is C 1 to C 4 alkylene or alkenylene, n is 0 to 10, m is 1 to 10, p is 0 or 1 and M is an alkali metal cation. The anionic surfactant may be a (linear C 10 to C 16 alkyl) benzene sulphonate, an alkyl sulphate, an α-olefin sulphonate, an alkane sulphonate or a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulphate. The compositions may be used for heavy duty washing purposes, in kitchens and as shampoos, wherein foam produced during washing is quickly dispersed during rinsing.
