Abstract
1418198 Continuous heat treatment furnaces KOPPERS-WISTRA-OFENBAU GmbH 12 April 1973 [19 April 1972] 17715/73 Heading F4B In a furnace in which the charge to be heated is transported continuously or intermittently through the furnace, e.g. a pusher or walking beam furnace, the charge is supported by water cooled supports having skids each comprising a ceramic body having a substantially rectangular cross-sectional envelope without external projections and which has an overall height of not less than 100 mm. The skids may be retained by metal retainers welded to the supports and may be formed of sintered ceramics having an Al 2 O 3 content of more than 97%, corundum or a laminated material having metallic and ceramic components (Cermet). The lower part of the skid and the tube of the support may be encased in insulating material. The skid may be hollow, with an open bottom engaged by projections on the support tube.
