Abstract

1411049 Dolls MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES 5 Oct 1973 [15 Jan 1973] 46654/73 Heading A6S A doll comprises a simulated head 12 having a skull portion with hair 14 attached to it, and one or other of hair styling accessories 22a, Fig 2, 22b, Fig 3, 22c, Fig 5, removably attached to the skull to allow the selected accessory to be used in situ for hair styling. Each of the accessories 22a, 22b, 22c has an axial slot 26 allowing a tuft of hair 18 to be inserted from its side. The main tubular body 24 of each accessory 22a, &c. can be inserted through a hole 16 in the top of the simulated head. The accessory 22a, Figs 1, 2, has holes 30 through a peripheral flange 28 for a pullstring 34 provided at one end with a hairclip 32. Following the insertion of the hairtuft 18 in the accessory 22a, and the insertion of the latter into the hole 16 in the skull, the hairclip 32 is attached to the free end of the hair. When the pullstring 34 is drawn tight, the hairtuft 18 is drawn up from the full line position, Fig 1, to the raised forward position 46 shown in phantom. The accessory 22a may be replaced by the accessory 22b, Fig 3, into which the hairtuft 18 is inserted through the slot 26. The hairtuft 18 is then separated into three parts, which are alternatively passed down side slots 52 of the accessory to braid the hair. Again, the accessory 22c may be used in combination with the simulated head. Shanks of hair of the hairtuft 18 are wound round pegs 62 and secured through slots 64, to curl the hair, which is then sprayed with a setting lotion.
