Abstract
1410529 Convector air heaters SKOPE ENTERPRISES Ltd 9 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 54509/72 Heading F4S The casing 1 of an electric convector space heater has an air inlet and an air outlet 17 at the front thereof, and within the casing is a baffle 10 which divides the upwardly flowing air into two streams one of which passes in front of the baffle over the electric heating element 4, and the other of which passes behind the baffle and is supplemented by air drawn in through a subsidiary inlet (e.g. a row of apertures 18) located at or above the horizontal centre line of the rear wall of the casing. Another baffle 16 may be disposed in the latter air stream so that the air drawn through the apertures 18 maintains the casing cool before discharging with the heated air through the casing outlet 17. The casing has a front panel (19, Fig. 1) with grilles (22) permitting the entry and discharge of air to and from the casing. Rectangular fins 5 (see also Figs. 4 and 5) with interposed spacers 8 are mounted on the heating element 4.
