Abstract

1408221 Mixing liquids or pastry products SECMER SA 5 Sept 1973 [6 Sept 1972] 41689/73 Heading B1C In a method and apparatus for mixing at least two liquids or flowable pastry products, the products are introduced under pressure through upwardly directed symmetrically arranged jets 21 onto a concave surface 23 at the upper end of a chamber 4 from which surface the mixed liquids or products are deflected downwardly towards a converging- diverging outlet nozzle 6 by which the mixture is compressed as it passes therethrough to expand in an outlet chamber 7 as a homogeneous mixture. In the particular mixing head shown the liquids pass through needle injectors 13 to jets 21 whence they are directed towards part-spherical surface 29a of the head of a valve 29 through which cleaning fluid (e.g. compressed air) may be introduced after mixing. The fluid is introduced through connection pieces 35 into bore 25b of piston 25 forming part of valve 29, the fluid passing along passageways 31 into space 30 and acts against the valve head to open it, see Fig. 2. The valve is repositioned by introducing air under piston head 25a from connection piece 36.
