Abstract

1403813 Modifying cigarette filters CALGON CORP 24 July 1973 35253/73 Heading A2C The pore volume and surface area of an activated carbon contained in a cigarette filter are reduced by half or more in a first impregnation with a non-toxic pore modifying agent followed by impregnation with a smokeflavourant. Menthol, mint, citrus and other fruit flavours and eucalyptus are mentioned as flavourants. Hexoses and pentoses are preferred pore fillers. U.S.A. Specifications 3144024 and 3236244 are referred to.
