Abstract

1499810 Assembly of fixed flats ENGLISH CARD CLOTHING CO Ltd 23 Jan 1975 [26 Jan 1974] 03716/74 Heading DIN An assembly of flats 14 to be mounted stationarily on a carding machine has each flat connected to an adjacent flat by a hinged connection which is engageable and disengageable by its hinged movement. As shown each flat, except the flat on one end of the assembly, has a hinged link 26 pivoted about a bolt 24 with a notch 30 to snap onto the bolt of the next adjacent flat. The link 26 is preferably of plastics material. A rebate 25 on the end of the flat is embraced by a tensioned chain 40 to hold the flats tight onto the machine bends 10, Fig. 3. A recess 38 in each link 26 allows insertion of e.g. a screwdriver to prize free the link of the next adjacent flat during removal.
