Abstract
1489570 Pipe-lining apparatus TATE PIPE LINING PROCESSES Ltd 20 Nov 1974 [1 Dec 1973] 55775/73 Heading B2L [Also in Division F21 A method of lining the inside of an underground pipe with mortar comprises making a series of excavations 30 (Fig. 2) to effect holes 31 in the wall of the pipe 25 to be lined, injecting a controlled quantity of mortar, supplied from a pump and mixer arrangement 33 to a hose 32, through each hole 31 in turn, in advance of pipe lining apparatus which is pulled through the pipe 25 by a chain or wire rope 26 connected to a winch 27. The pipe lining apparatus (Fig. 1) comp- 'rises a metering pump 5 which receives mortar through an inlet 15 and delivers it via a tube 6 to a lining machine which comprises a spinning head 7. The mortar passes through radial slits 20 in the wall of the tube 6 into radial passages defined by blades 21. The spinning head 7 is keyed to a tube 6A rotatably supported in bearings 22 and driven by a motor 8. The mortar is projected centrifugally from the spinning head on to the pipe wall. The metering pump rotor 12 is drivingly connected to the spinning head 7. The apparatus is supported in the pipe 25 by discs 9, 10 and 11 and is attached to the winch chain or wire rope 26 at 18. Power from the motor 8 is supplied through a supply line 28 by a generator 29 (Fig. 2).
