Abstract

1476638 Portable tanks H DOVEY and A E GRENNALL 10 March 1975 [10 Dec 1973] 57045/73 Heading B8D A vessel of plastics reinforced with glass fibres comprises a plurality of hollow sections fitting together with the rim of one section co-operating with the rim of another section there being a seal in a recess in one of the engaging rim sections and means applying axial pressure to the assembled sections. Each rim has a frustoconical portion 6, 7 one of which has a recess 4 in which is a rubber 0-ring seal 3. A central section 2 is located between end portions 1. The axial pressure is applied by a handle frame 12 carrying lugs which are adjustably mounted and engage a metal or nylon bush 9 mounted on a boss 10 on the longitudinal axis of the vessel. Alternatively, the bush may be shaped to fill an indent in the end wall of each section Fig. 5 (not shown). The frame 12 has a handle section 14 pivoted at 15 or detachable at 1. A screwplug filler 16, 17 is provided. The sections 1 are designed to nest one within the other and both portions will then nest in section 2.
