1469200 Indole - derived aminothioethers WARNER LAMBERT CO 28 Nov 1975 48999/75 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of Formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are each H or C 1-7 alkyl; R 4 is C 1-7 alkyl, C 6-10 aryl, C 6-10 aryl-C 1-7 alkyl or a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical; and R 5 is H, OH or C 1-7 alkyl or alkoxy. These compounds are prepared by reacting the carboline derivative (II) with R 4 S<SP>-</SP>Na<SP>+</SP>. Therapeutic compositions having C.N.S. depressant activity comprise compounds of the above Formula (I), and may be administered orally or parenterally.
