Abstract

1468083 Bath enclosures A GROSSMAN 21 May 1974 [22 May 1973] 22665/74 Heading A4N [ Also in Division E1] A closure means for a bathtub comprises two panels vertically slidable in parallel planes in an opening and having an aggregate height less than that of the opening. The panels have upper and lower horizontal frame members (34, 35) carrying sealing members and handles. The sides of the panels are slidable in channels in an insert member 56 which is secured in a channel housing 50 attached to the wall. Counterweights 74, 75 are suspended from cables which pass over pulleys (79) and are attached to bars (86) on the lower frame members. A stop (92) in the channel 64 limits lowering of panel 26. To assemble the closure means, housings 50 are positioned, members 56 inserted laterally with bars (86) attached by portions (96', 97') to stop (92) on the members, inserting the panels and attaching them to the bars, then adjusting and securing the track members and breaking off portions (96', 97') to release the panels.
