Abstract
1467970 Purification of polyethers IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 May 1975 [5 June 1974] 24839/74 Heading C3R Polyethers, which are liquid reaction products obtained by sequential addition of ethylene oxide and at least one other alkylene oxide (e.g. propylene oxide) to an active hydrogen containing compound, are purified by treatment with a mixture containing 1 part by wt. of active carbon and 2À5-7À5 parts by wt. of synthetic magnesium silicate. From 0À5-15% by wt. of the mixture may be used, based on the weight of the polyether treated. Examples relate to the treatment of an ethylene oxide tipped oxypropylated glycerol (M.W. 5300, oxyethylene content 14%).
