Abstract

1453011 Material loading and compressing BRINLY HARDY CO Inc 18 Feb 1974 7261/74 Heading B8E [Also in Divisions A1 and F2] In a debris collecting machine, a driven compression roller 30 has slits through which extend eccentrically mounted fins 26 which protrude from the roller to a maximum extent at the entrance to a confining channel 25, to compress debris the debris being compressed by the fins into a compression chamber 34 and then forced into a collecting bag (not shown) which is fixed over an opening 70, the opening 70 providing a restricted exit to assist in the compaction of the debris in the chamber 34. The fins 26 are freely rotatably mounted on a stationary eccentric crank-shaft 28 within the roller 30. The roller is driven by supporting wheels 12 through a uni-directional clutch which (Division F2) may be disengageable and settable to give reverse drive to clear blockages. The debris can either be directed to a shoot 22 by a brush 14 or be supplied direct from a mower.
