1450491 Biaxially stretched naphthalene 2,6- dicarboxylic acid films TEIJIN Ltd 5 April 1974 [6 April 1973] 15287/74 Heading B5B A biaxially stretched film comprises a linear polyester which contains units derived from naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, units derived from ethylene glycol and optionally units derived from one or more dicarboxylic acids and dihydric alcohols other than the aforementioned, the total molar percent of the optional compounds being less than 10%, the polyester having an intrinsic viscosity, measured in o-chlorophenol at 35‹C of at least 0À40 and a concentration of free carboxyl groups of not more than 30 equivalent/metric tonne. The preferred polyester is polyethylene 2,6-naphthalate.
