Abstract

1440570 Vehicle rear-view mirrors M LITMAN 20 Nov 1973 [28 Nov 1972] 54957/72 Heading B7J A rear-view mirror for a motor vehicle carries a pair of oppositely disposed repeater lamps 5 visible through arrow-shaped windows 4 formed by the omission of silvering of the mirror reflecting member 1, the lamps being connected to the electrical circuit of flashing direction indicators of the motor vehicle to give the driver visual indication of indicator operation. The mirror carries a light sensitive device arranged in the electrical circuit so that the illumination of the lamps 5 varies according to the level of ambient light, to thus avoid dazzling the driver at night. The reflecting member 1 is carried in a plastics safety frame 3. Various circuits for the control of the repeater lamps are described, Figs. 2-4 (not shown).
