Abstract

1339800 Welding fluxes MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH [21 Dec 1971] [23 Dec 1970] 59261/71 Heading C7M In the production of an agglomerated welding flux, a part of the constituents is added as a foamed granulate, thereby reducing the flux density. In an example, the foamed granulate comprised 60-75% SiO 2 and 20-27% CaO, formed by melting sand, chalk and dolomite, the resulting flux having the composition by weight:- 2-13% of a bonding agent, e.g. waterglass or corn syryp, can be used. The flux is obtained by mixing, moistening and agglomerating the finely ground raw materials, and subsequently drying the product.
