Abstract

1338871 Carrier device for packages ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc 23 Feb 1972 [23 Feb 1971] 8411/72 Heading B8C A carrier device 10 for two or more elastic multiple container carriers 11 comprises a central member and two integral side members 15, tabs 17 being integrally formed on the edges of each side member to engage within the finger holes 13 of the carriers and beneath the side edges 19 of the carriers. Areas of the central member may be cut away to form a handle. The device may be formed from a sheet of polyethylene. rod 7 is attached to the top 9 of the sleeve 2 by a bearing ring 8. The arrangement is such that the worm 6 is rotated a predetermined time or number of revolutions and the lowering of the sleeve initiated so that the worm 6 is nominally at rest when it contacts the closure member 4, the bearing ring 8 allowing rotation of the sleeve 2 if necessary. The sleeve 2 may be swingably mounted or made of thin, resilient material to ensure sealing. The closure element 4 may be rotatably mounted on the worm 6 in which case some friction between the two parts is desirable.
