Abstract

1337809 Peel-packings, especially for surgical suture material B BRAUN MELSUNGEN AG 14 July 1971 [16 July 1970] 32975/71 Heading B8C In a packing especially for surgical suture material in which a container portion 1, formed by deep-drawing and having a surrounding sealing flange, and a covering foil 5 are secured together by a welded, or glued, seam 6, the foil 5 and the container flange are extended in the same direction from one side of the packing to form two pull tabs 5, 2 respectively which are non co-extensive so that an overlapping part of one, can be initially grasped and separated from the other tab before the latter is also grasped, the seam 6 having an acute-angled portion 7 directed towards the tabs and the tab 2 of the container 1 being profiled at 9 to facilitate holding. As shown, the overlapping tab portion 4 is located at a corner of the foil tab 5, it may however extend across the whole of, or be located centrally at, the end of the foil 5. The profiling 9 may comprise spaced parallel straight ribs, a raised pattern of spots or, a knurled transverse band. The foil 5 may be made of aluminium, or paper, coated with lacquer, or plastics.
