Abstract

1335328 Teats for feeding bottles MAPA GmbH GUMMI-UND PLASTIKWERKE 17 July 1972 [20 July 1971] 33285/72 Heading A5X A teat comprises a nipple portion 3 connected via a cover portion 2 with a cylindrical wall portion 1 which in use surrounds a bottle neck and has at least one inwardly directed circumferential bead 13, and a sealing lip member 5 extending downwardly from the cover portion in spaced relationship with the cylindrical wall portion and in use fitting inside the bottle. As shown the bead 13 is annular and the lip member 5 extends obliquely outwardly towards the wall portion 1 and has a tapered lower edge 7, the widest part 6 of the lip member lying above or in the centre plane of the bead. In a modification the wall 1 has two annular beads, the part 6 of the lip member then being located at a level between the beads. The part 6 may have a screwthread-like form and in this case the bead defines at least two helical turns on wall 1. In a further modification the wall 1 has three beads which can be three parallel annular beads or formed as a helical screw thread, the lip 5 correspondingly has two projections.
