Abstract
1335221 Selective electro-plating of contact elements SOC HONEYWELL BULL 17 Dec 1970 [17 Dec 1969] 60084/70 Heading C7B Flat conductive contact elements arranged in inter-connecting pairs each having a bent-over portion curved to form two prominent contact points CT1 and CT2 requiring to be electro-plated, are electro-plated on the contact points using a support assembly comprising a wall of insulating material having fingers of insulating material extending perpendicularly therefrom about which pairs of the contact elements may be stacked, the insulating fingers each containing an elongate anode, e.g. formed of platinum iridium alloy, the ends of which extend therefrom such as to be adjacent the contact points to be electro-plated when the contact elements are in position on the support assembly. A cover plate may be provided so that the stacks of elements to be plated are sandwiched between the cover plate and the insulating walls, apertures in both allowing flow of electrolyte adjacent the anodes and points to be plated; and a number of assemblies may be suspended from a frame positioned above a bath of electrolyte and mounted so that the assemblies may be reciprocated in the bath to produce agitation thereof.
