Abstract
133,505. Carmont, W. E. Nov. 7, 1918. Gas and oil stoves.-A chimneyless gas or oil stove has a casing, the upper end of which is constructed so that the hot air and combustion products leaving it are directed downwards towards the floor. Fig. 1 shows a gas stove consisting of a base 3 with a long burner 4 heating a cylinder 6 filled with metal scrap or other infusible material. This is partlv enclosed in a flue 8, 9 set in a casing 1 which has an opening 2 at the front. The combustion products from the flue 8, 9 and the air heated in the casing are directed downwards by the curved ends 8<a>, 9<a>, 12 of the flue walls and of the casing. In a modification, Fig. 3, the flue 15, the casing 18, and an additional casing 19 are circular in section; an annular burner 4 heats a dish-like container 6, and the air and combustion products are directed downwards by a canopy 20 with a central deflector 21. The part 6 may be replaced by a solid body.
