Abstract

1333598 Coated elastic band ROTUNDA Ltd 29 July 1971 [11 May 1970] 22686/70 Heading B2E An elastic band is provided on its surface with a thin lubricating coating of a silicone oil or silicone wax. The coating may be applied as a solution or emulsion or aqueous dispersion of the silicone oil or silicone wax by immersion. The silicone may be polydimethyl siloxane. In an Example rubber is extruded to form a thin walled tube, a stream of air carrying talc dust being introduced into the tube during extrusion. The tube is then cut into convenient lengths, vulcanized in steam, cut into bands, washed through two changes of water, the final wash having added thereto an aqueous dispersion of polydimethyl siloxane.
