Abstract

1329969 Gear Pumps G & E BRADLEY LTD 19 April 1971 [12 Dec 1969] 60835/69 Heading FIF An externally meshing gear pump comprises a pair of housing members 11, 12 and a cylindrical insert 13 having a pair of bores therein locating gears 14, 15 a flexible sheet 16 being clamped between members 11 and 12 and sealingly biased against the end faces of the gears 14, 15 by resilient O-ring seals 17, 18 clamped under compression in recesses in the member 12. Flexible sheets 16 may be located on each side of the gears 14, 15, Fig.3 (not shown). The sheet(s) 16 may be PTFE with graphite or bronze as an additive to reduce wear, the gears, stainless steel, the O-rings, nitrile rubber, and the casing members, plastics material.
