Abstract

1329951 Angular bending MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG AG 6 Jan 1971 [28 Jan 1970] 565/71 Heading B3E [Also in Division B6] A bending tool comprises a die 1 having support means 12 initially to support a workpiece 14, e.g. a metal or plastics sheet, and to provide a cavity through which a punch 6 can pass to press the workpiece into the die, wherein the die has an aperture 3 in the base 4 thereof for an ejector member 5 and provides recesses 4 between said support means and said base in which resilient abutments 13 are provided and wherein the ejector member has a surface which presses the workpiece against the punch during the bending, e.g. flanging operation. The die is mounted on a machine table 2 of the bending machine and the punch is operated by a fluid pressure cylinder 8. The ejector member 5 is operated by an hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder or by a mechanical device. The support means constitute exchangeable jaws 12 which form the upper power of the recesses 4 which accommodate a plurality of rubber balls or rollers. To ensure a smooth and accurate deformation of the workpiece the ejector member also functions as a counter-pressure member in cooperation with the punch (Fig. 2, not shown).
