Abstract
1327451 Protective arrangements HOOVER Ltd 11 June 1971 [12 June 1970] 28615/70 Heading H2K A fan assisted electric air heater, e.g. a turn' bler drier, room heater, cooker or oven, comprises a main electric heating element 17, 18, an electric motor driven fan (not shown) and a thermal cut-out having an element 30 exposed to heating by the main element 17, 18 and by an auxiliary heating element 33 connected in series with the motor (at 10), the contacts (not shown) of the cut-out being connected (at 21, 26) in series with both the main heating element and the motor to switch them off in response to overheating of the main heating element or overloading of the motor. The main heating element and the cut-out may be supported on opposite sides of a plate 40 having a hole 41 to allow radiation from the main heater to reach the heat responsive element 30. The circuit may include a door operated switch, a timer, thermostats and a manually-operable switch, Fig. 1 (not shown).
