1325119 Suction-grippers for handling delicate food articles UKRAINSKY NAUCHNOISSLEDOVATELSKY I KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT PRODOVOLSTVENNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 26 May 1972 24879/72 Heading B8C A suction gripper, for handling delicate food articles of arbitrary shape such as chocolate pieces, comprises a cup 1 which is adapted to engage for example a chocolate 9, Fig. 8, and which is connected to a corrugated neck portion 2 having a passage 4 which is adapted to communicate with a source of vacuum and at least one corrugation of varying wall thickness, and a partition 3 which is made of elastomeric material, is integral with the neck 2, and lies in the plane of intersection of the cup and the neck. The partition 3 is preferably shaped as shown in either Fig. 2, or Fig. 3, and the number of corrugations in the neck portion may be varied. For picking up large articles such as a fancy roll (11), Fig. 9 not shown, several suction grippers are mounted on a single support (10) connected to a suction line.
