Abstract
1323787 Shaft couplings; rollers; shafts &c ROLLS-ROYCE (1971) Ltd 9 Dec 1971 57140/71 Heading F2U A coupling between two members 12, 20 comprises annular arrays of first fingers 21 on one member 20, of alternating second and third fingers 17, 18 on the other member 12 the third fingers 18 being more resilient than the second fingers 17, the fingers being arranged that in one direction of torque transmission the fingers 17 are loaded by the fingers 21 and on torque reversal, the fingers 18 are loaded by the fingers 21. The member 20 may be a bevel gear meshing with a drive 23. . . . 25 from a starter motor, and the member 12 may be splined at 13 to a high pressure compressor shaft 10 of a gas turbine.
