Abstract

1315795 Animal feed additives SMITH KLINE & FRENCH LABORATORIES 22 Jan 1972 3134/72 Heading A5B The efficiency of an animal feed can be improved by inclusion of an encapsulated volatile liquid or solid C 1-6 halohydrocarbon which contains at least two chlorine or bromine atoms. The halohydrocarbon may be methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride or hexachloroethane. The encapsulating material may be selected from gum arabic, gelatin, ethylene-maleic acid copolymer, polyethylene imine and methyl cellulose. An animal feed containing the encapsulated halohydrocarbon also contains vitamins A and D.
