Abstract
1311913 Hydroxy-substituted N-aryl amidines and guanidines FAHLBERG-LIST MAGDEBURG CHEMISCHE UND PHARMAZEUTISCHE FABRIKEN VEB 5 Sept 1970 42628/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula where R and R<SP>1</SP> each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl C 1-6 , aryl or aralkyl radical or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a heterocyclic ring which may contain further heteroatoms, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> each represent a halogen atom or an alkyl, nitro, alkoxy, alkylthio or optionally substituted amino group, m and n are each 0 or an integer from 1 to 5 and n and m # 5 and their salts with inorganic or organic acids. They may be prepared by reacting hydroxylamine with either the appropriate substituted arylimino-halogen carbonic acid amide or with the appropriate substituted isourea or isothiourea. The compounds have herbicidal activity and may be formulated in admixture with a carrier and/or diluent or surface-active material as a spray powder, an emulsifiable concentrate, granules or a solution.
