Abstract
1306884 Suction cleaners PIAB AB 19 April [20 March 1970] 24763/71 Heading A4F [Also in Division B4 F1] A suction device for picking up small objects or liquid comprises a suction nozzle 18 connected to a container 16 in which suction is generated by pressure of air flowing through an ejector nozzle 14 past the end of a channel 15, the pressurized air being supplied from a tube 1 through a control valve 5 connected to a piston 8 in a working chamber 4. A branch pipe 9 having a control throttle 10 is connected to the chamber 4 on one side of piston 8 and is open to atmosphere at 11 so that, in a non-operative position, the pressure of air in the valve 5 exceeds that on the piston 8 whereby the valve is maintained closed. When the aperture 11 is closed, e.g. by the thumb, the air pressure on piston 8 opens the valve 5 to allow the pressure air to discharge from the nozzle 14. The container 16, which may be of transparent plastics, may contain a filter 17 e.g. of sintered bronze.
