Abstract
1306410 Ferrous alloys TELEDYNE Inc 18 Dec 1970 [30 Dec 1969] 60342/70 Heading C7A [Also in Division B3] A weld deposit comprises: C 0À05 - 0À13 Mn 0À25 - 09 Si 0À2 - 0À7 Cr 0À2 - 2À0 Ni 2À0 - 4À5 Mo 0À2 - 1À2 P up to 0À02 S up to 0À02 and the balance Fe. The weld retains both tensile strength and toughness after being stress relieved by soaking at 1025F for 16 hours and then cooling at 200 F per hour. The weld can be made using a low hydrogen line-fluoride coated electrode, 45-80% of which is a mild steel core the remainder being a coating containing all the alloying metals. The coating comprises up to 30% iron and alloy metal powder, 2-7% deoxidizer metal powder, 4-15% metal fluoride, 5-15% alkaline earth carbonate, up to 10% slag builder and modifier and 0À5-8% inorganic binder material.
