Abstract
1306319 Valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 17 Nov 1971 [17 Nov 1970] 53291/71 Heading F2V A pressure regulating valve comprising a hollow cylindrical valve member 3 slidable in a housing 1 against the action of a spring 10 and provided with a throttle portion 6 and at least one orifice, as at 7 forming communication between an inlet port 5, the interior of the member, an annular chamber 8 formed in the housing and an outlet port 9 is provided with damping means comprising a cylinder member 15 movable with said valve member relative to a piston 17 disposed in said cylinder member to form a damping chamber 21, said means being so constructed that the valve member is weakly damped when moved in the direction to reduce the flow of pressure through said valve and strongly damped when moved in the opposite direction. The degree of damping can be regulated by altering the width of the gaps between piston-rod 18 and the box 19a, and between the piston head 17a and the cylinder 15. Openings 16a in the flange 16 release pressure in the chamber 2a during the weakly damped movement. In further embodiments a sleeve with a longitudinal groove in its inner surface is positioned in the chamber 21 and held against the head 17a by a spring 25 to further increase the damping. The head portion of the piston may be made of resilient material and be provided with an annular lip to act as a non- return valve. The pressure medium in this case returns to the main valve chamber via a throttling orifice provided in the cylinder 15 and the openings 16a.
