1302819 Coin freed devices; delivering strips OMRON TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO 30 June 1971 [17 July 1970] 30708/71 Headings G4V and G4X In a coin or token freed dispensing device, articles to be dispensed, e.g. banknotes, coins, merchandise, are carried by a strip 21, Fig. 2, a portion of strip being cut off in response to coin or token actuation by knives 30, 33 and delivered to the user, said portion having identification marks at opposite ends thereof to indicate the true length of the severed portion as dispensed by the device. In the embodiment shown, a banknote dispenser is actuated by a credit card inserted at slot (13), Fig. 1 (not shown), and by buttons (14-18) which enter the amount of cash required. A length of strip 21 which is tubular in form and divided into money-containing sections 22, Fig. 3, by glued portions 23, is delivered together with the credit card from slot 19, Fig. 2 and Fig. 1 (not shown). The identification marks 36, Fig. 3, are formed when the strip is cut, and length 34 also comprises numbers 24, one at each section 22, and holes 25 to allow internal counting using a light source 28; Fig. 2, and photo-sensor 29. As shown, strip 21 is fed from a reel 22, but may be accordion-folded and fed from a store (41), Fig. 6 (not shown). In modifications, cut marks 36 may be replaced by printed or otherwise formed marks, either straddling, see Fig. 5 (not reproduced), or situated on either side of the lines of severance.
