Abstract
1300250 Polysiloxane emulsions; textiletreating compositions CHEMISCHE FABRIK PFERSEE GmbH 23 March 1970 [5 April 1969] 13804/70 Headings C3R and C3T [Also in Division D1] An aqueous emulsion of an organopolysiloxane containing SiH groups has a pH of 2À5-4À0 and contains as emulsifier an N-alkoxymethylmorpholinium salt and/or -pyridinium salt wherein each R is a C 12 <SP>+</SP> alkyl group and X- is an anion of a strong inorganic acid. In examples methyl hydrogen polysiloxanes, alone or with a polydimethylsiloxane, are dissolved in CCl 2 = CCl 2 or toluene/CCl 2 =CCl 2 or PhCl and emulsified in water at a pH of 2À8-3À6 using as emulsifiers technical N-octadecyloxymethyl pyridinium chloride or N-lauryloxymethyl-N-#- hydroxyethyl morpholinium chloride. The emulsions are diluted to form textile-treating baths also containing Zr dilaurate or oxychloride or Zn octoate as curing catalyst, and optionally Na acetate and/or a butylated or free hexamethylolmelamine plus dimethylolethyleneurea or methyl-dimethylol-urea and MgCl 2 or Zn(NO) 3 as catalyst for the aminoplast. Uses.-Waterproofing textiles, paper and leather.
