1399670 Adenosine-5<SP>1</SP>-carboxamides ABBOTT LABORATORIES 29 March 1973 [10 April 1972] 15214/73 Heading C2C Compounds I in which R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen, C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 haloalkyl, C 1-4 hydroxyalkyl, C 3-7 cycloalkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 haloalkenyl, C 2-6 hydroxyalkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, C 2-6 haloalkynyl, benzyl, phenyl C 1-4 alkyl, C 3-7 cycloalkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy C 1-4 alkyl, substituted phenyl, 2-methylfuryl, di-(C 1-4 alkyl)amino-C 1-4 alkyl or adamantyl or NR 1 R 2 form a heterocyclic ring and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting an ester of adenosine-5<SP>1</SP>-carboxylic acid or a salt-thereof with an amine HNR 1 R 2 by suspending the ester in a C 1-3 alkanol containing the amine and heating the mixture for at least part of the time above 70‹ C. R 1 is hydrogen and R 2 is allyl, propargyl i-propyl, 2-hydroxyethyl or cyclopropyl.
