Abstract
1398901 Separation of acid gases SOC NATIONALE DES PETROLES D'AQUITAINE 1 June 1972 [1 June 1971] 25656/72 Heading C1A Hydrogen sulphide is removed from waste gas by absorbing them in an amine solution, e.g. monoethanolamine or diethanolamine, regenerating the amine by heating it with steam and recycling the regenerated amine to the absorption zone. The regenerated amine solution is directly analysed for its sulphur content, e.g. by means of an X-ray sulphurimeter, the actual sulphur content is compared with a predetermined theoretical optimum sulphur content and the flow of regenerating steam varied to correct the actual content to the optimum content.
