1397761 Cylinder printing machines FERD RUESCH MASCHINENFABRIK 25 May 1972 [21 April 1972] 24709/72 Heading B6C In a cylinder machine in which the printing cylinder 1 is reciprocated across an impression table and in which the ink roller 11, ink drum 12, distributer rollers 13 and forme rollers 14 travel with the cylinder 1 the latter is maintained in continuous uni-directional rotation whether it is at either end of its stroke or being returned to its starting position. This rotation is accomplished by having a main drive M, 27, 28, crank wheel 3 and connecting rod 4 and an auxiliary drive, which, although deriving its power from the same motor M, is connected directly to the shaft of the cylinder 1 through gears 26, 25, shaft 23 and worm-gearing 22.
