Abstract
1397203 Wet separating ICROT SpA INDUSTRIA E COMMERCIO ROTTAMI 24 July 1973 35215/73 Heading B2H In a method of separating the components of a powder originating from the grinding of stainless steel and consisting of stainless steel particles on which sulphur and sulphide particles, originating from the material of a grinder, have hardened, the powder is subjected to crushing so as to dislodge the sulphur and sulphide particles from the stainless steel particles, these two types of particles being then separated from each other. The powder may first be sieved to remove pieces of wood &c and may then be crushed in a wet or dry mill. The crushed powder may be separated into its components by wet classification, e.g. in a machine in which the crushed powder is washed as it is transported by a screw, or by flotation. Fine particles may be sieved from the stainless steel particles which are then dried and agglomerated into briquettes in a press for use in an electric furnace.
